DATABASE MANAGER

    The City of Franklin has a vacancy for Database Manager. Responsibilities generally include managing, supervising, and directing all City database application the City's databases; consulting with end-users and vendors to determine future needs; developing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database; designing data models, performing imports, monitoring the database for potential problems, and creating end user reports; tuning production databases; insuring integrity and availability of databases and accompanying software; providing oversight for software installation; overseeing design, installation, and administration of all application based systems; helping in long-range planning to meet City's ongoing application database needs; developing and maintaining a disaster preparedness plan and evaluating the City's preparedness.

 

    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, or Business Administration, Professional Certifications as Certified Network Engineer (CNE) required, Microsoft training (MCSE) and GIS also preferred. Minimum five years of systems experience in multi-site or multi-agency information systems management. Computer operations management, network systems administration, budget administration and/or supervision, including experience with Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows NT and UNIX (optional), Crystal Reports, Microsoft Sequel Report Writer, Visual Basic, SQL, C#, LINUX, Application Knowledge, Data Warehousing, Database Mapping, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, Scribe Sharepoint, Business Portal, Delphi, UNIX, Web Based Languages (or related).
