Position Overview - Corporate Training Manager
Reporting to the VP, Administration the Training Manager will be responsible for planning, developing, delivering, supervising, updating and administering scalable and effective learning solutions for employees at all levels across the organization. Using our own learning assets (and a blended learning approach where appropriate), these programs would support the businesses objectives and strengthen and develop skills, enhance productivity and quality of work, and support career growth potential for Skillsoft employees.
Responsibilities:
· Develop understanding of key business drivers and how to translate those into effective training programs that develop employee skill levels.
· Coordinate all activities related to the planning, development, delivery and organization of training programs.
· Build and demonstrate understanding of company initiatives, style and culture
· Implement training schedule and manage organization of sessions/workshops and overall learning solution.
· Use and apply e-learning tools and methods to programs.
· Be an expert in applying other current and successful technologies and resources in delivery and management.
· Use creative techniques in blending different e-learning strategies with traditional training methods to maximize learning
· Work closely with operational and management staff, fostering strong relationships and departmental support.
· Be a proactive resource to staff, providing coaching to staff during training programs
· Continually review and update program and related materials.
· Establish metrics to continually monitor and evaluate employee progress as well as training program effectiveness.
· Develop blended learning programs to support specific training initiatives/objectives.
· Work with management on developing individual or group training initiatives.
· Be central point of contact and be responsible for training sites.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in creative development of training programs and program management both in e-learning and in-person environments
· Thorough understanding and documented implementation of adult learning principles.
· Excellent computer skills and a deep understanding of technology and technology-based learning tools.
· Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, teaming and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to balance short term goals with strategic vision.
· Ability to work well under pressure of meeting deadlines and to set priorities
· Strong sense of initiative and autonomy.
· Advanced presentation and facilitation skills.
· Ability to excel in a team based environment.
· Highly evolved interpersonal, organization and management skills.
