Basic Purpose:
Responsible for all technical aspects of a Clients solution and serves as the primary technical contact for their designated Clients and/or technologies. These solutions are comprised of client dedicated firewalls, load balancers, and multi tier web/app/db environments as well as clustered solutions and geographically load balanced or disaster recovery sites. Works in a team environment with other Client Technical leads to provide outstanding customer service to our clients and partners. Communicates directly with customers. Assists with design of client applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include involvement and coordination with appropriate USi teams during the pre-sales, design, deployment, pre-production and production phases.
Independently identifies and debugs issues with the client environments, provides problem diagnosis, remediation testing, change management coordination, and problem resolution.
Ensures the technical validity and completeness of the Troubleshooting Guide, and any client specific troubleshooting tools.
Provide on-call support for after-hours issues.
Suggest and apply patches and updates to client applications.
Leads conference calls and communicate via email with customers.
Lead technical discussions and knowledge transfer sessions with other colleagues.
Develops documentation on installation, operations, and maintenance of systems and documents those in a sound manner for reusability.Required Skills
Must have a strong knowledge of general networking principals, as well as an understanding of general information security principals and practices.
Must posses an expert level knowledge of Unix operating systems and tools including Sun Solaris, RedHat Linux, Veritas (Volume Manager, FileSystem, and Cluster).
Knowledge of Windows, BEA Weblogic, IBM WebSphere Application or Commerce Server, jBoss, Tomcat preferred.
Expert operating system knowledge (7 or more years experience) in Solaris or Redhat Linux.
Ability to troubleshoot network and firewall issues (5 or more years experience)
Checkpoint / Cisco experience preferred.
Experience with IP load balancers such as Citrix Netscalers or Cisco CSS.
Troubleshoot multi-tiered web/app/db environments with SAN connectivity (7 or more yrs experience).
Experience with Sun Java System Web Server, Oracle, BEA WebLogic, WebSphere Application or Commerce Server, Apache, Veritas (Volume Manager, FileSystem, and Cluster), or WebTrends preferred.
Ability to interface with client technical staff for all troubleshooting purposes and design/planning (3-5 yrs experience).
