Chief Financial Officer
Define and manage the financial planning and budgeting process.
Define and maintain adequate financial accounting infrastructure for the purposes of capital budgeting, financial forecasting, and project finance.
Serve as the accounting and financial advisor to corporate and operating management regarding all accounting matters and financial analysis.
Provide internal and external business and financial reporting and report Company financial performance compared to plans both EK Board reporting and NIIT Corporate reporting.
Ensure annual internal and external audits are done in a timely/ effective manner. as per Indian GAAP and US GAAP.
Ensure the corporation complies with relevant regulations and tax laws and files necessary tax /other statutory returns, U.S., India, and other foreign locations.
Plan and direct the accounting and financial reporting affairs of the organization to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Ensure that all internal accounting procedures and policies are sound and in compliance with SEC and GAAP rules ( both India & US)and regulations, including but not limited to: Transfer Pricing regulations.
Ensure the deployment of adequate internal financial controls to ensure compliance with prudent practices as well as domestic and international reporting regulations.
Develop and implement financial, managerial and operational accounting processes and systems to enable the efficient operations of the enterprise.
Analyze Company performance relative to Company plans and objectives and suggest corrective actions.
Manage the risk exposure of the Corporation, ensuring the appropriate insurance coverage is in place
Plan and execute the financial transactions of the Company and ensure that adequate working capital is on hand, forecast cash requirements and invest cash surpluses.
Serves as an advisor to the CEO regarding short and long-range financial conditions and their impact on the Company’s policies and procedures.
Play a key role in Board of Directors meetings, presenting relevant financial presentations and updates.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the CEO or Board of Directors
Key Challenges of the Position:
Improving the budgeting and forecasting process and systems
Improve business reporting and key management metrics
Reducing the expense of the finance department
Managing short term requirements vs. longer term opportunities in “turnaround” situation
Compliance with Audit requirements, local regulations
Knowledge and Skill:
Technical Extensive knowledge of business accounting procedures.
Sound Knowledge of India GAAP & US GAAP.
Ability to coordinate major corporate financial responsibilities.
Ability to meet corporate deadlines and maintain strict schedules to accomplish organization goals.
Ability to work well as part of a top management team to facilitate growth and expansion while strengthening the organization as a whole.
The ability to manage and continuously improve financial systems and processes to improve the quality of information, improve timeliness, and reduce overall cost.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Prefer Masters degree in Business Administration or related field or C.P.A. or CA.
Ten years of job related experience with a minimum of 3 years international finance experience (India finance experience is highly desirable) and at least two years experience in a senior financial management role .
The ability to effectively work with a senior leadership team (e.g. degree of decision-making authority).
The ability to provide inspired leadership across the organization, influence and motivate others, and champion change.
The ability to value diversity, build relationships, and manage disagreements.
The ability to drive and manage change.
