Casual, Intense Company Seeking Lead Programmer - Developer - Analyst

We are a small lower Manhattan healthcare IT company set for rapid growth as a result of our revolutionary and innovative software product.  We sell, install and maintain our own electronic medical records (EMR) application in doctors’ offices on Windows based networks (10-100 clients), some in multiple locations with VPNs.  Over the next couple of years we will significantly change the healthcare IT business - and have a good time doing it.

Our chief architect is moving over to the sales department.  As a result, we have an immediate opening for a smart, motivated, and hard working person to head our programming department.  You must have deep knowledge and significant experience working with VB 6 and .NET.  We use SQL Server on the backend, so experience there is a plus as well.  The application is mostly written, but we constantly introduce new features.  In addition to those enhancements, we spend a good deal of time integrating our application with other applications as the industry becomes more interconnected.  Over time, the whole application will need to be re-written as an ASP, so there is significant scope for innovation.  As the company and your department grows, you will probably be required to assume some managerial duties, but at the moment, this is a hands on position and you will be spending all your time writing code.

This is an opportunity for you to work with a small creative group where you are expected to take full responsibility for the code.  Your ideas will not only be respected, but you will be required to think through problems and implement solutions.  We would expect you to be excited by the opportunity to expand and grow your skills, and to learn and apply the latest technology to real world problems.

You must have an exceptional mind, a computer science degree, and related experience.  We will consider an exceptional individual without a degree.  Our highly competitive compensation package is commensurate with your experience and qualifications.  Due to our rapid growth, other significant financial rewards are possible for the right person.

Please send your resume and a cover letter to gleopold@iopracticeware.com
