85,000.00 - 100,000.00 USD /year Position Type: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Business Intelligence Consultant TEKsystems is seeking a Business Intelligence Consultant to join one of our clients either on a Direct Hire or Contract To Hire opportunity. this individual will be responsible for designing and implementing Business Intelligence applications for their clients. This person will be expected to rely on their own leadership, project management and business communication skills to work with senior business and IT managers on deploying BI solutions.The main responsibilities of this BI individual will be to: *Assist with design and configuration of Microsoft Business Intelligence software including SQL Server 2005/2008, PerformancePoint 2007, SharePoint Server 2007, and Office 2007 *Assist with building relational and OLAP databases, and writing and testing MDX queries *Extract, transform and load data into both OLAP and relational databases *Verify data loaded into OLAP and relational databases *Build and test templates and reports *Document and communicate project status regularly to the Principal Consultant and project team *Provide expertise to assist in the planning and execution of proposals and statements of work *Assist the client in making decisions to properly and creatively utilize features to meet the business users’ needs *Present solutions that are consistent with the architecture and the design of our Client’s best practices *Demonstrate the ability to learn new application functionality – strive to be a expert.The successful candidate will possess the following education and experience: *Post secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Business discipline or equivalent experience *Depth of experience in designing, building, and implementing relational databases and information systems *Ability to write basic programming code to facilitate calculations and reporting *Ability to create complex and sophisticated MDX queries *Ability to effectively communicate in English both written and oral *Good understanding of financial and business reporting concepts *Ideally a strong level of knowledge in the following areas: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Service and Integration Services, OLAP Database Design and Development, Data Warehousing, Extract, Transform & Load (ETL), Business Intelligence (BI) *Experience with the following languages and front end technologies: SQL, MDX, Excel, XML, SQL Reporting Services, ProClarity, PerformancePoint, SharePointThis position will require 25%-50% travel to different client sites. However, our Client is flexible on the location in which they can work out of.
