The primary focus of this role will include the ongoing and future development of the CVC Data Warehouse Reporting Layer and Data Marts. This position will provide professional Cognos Architecture solutions in design, development, and implementation of large scale multi-terabyte Data Warehousing and Client-Server applications spanning Business, Financial, and other related impact areas of the company. This role will works closely with DBA, QA, BI, and other ETL groups.A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Business Integration and/or Enterprise Application Integration with the ability to quickly comprehend complex inter-system dependencies spanning diverse platforms, and development environments to architect the highest quality, sustainable, cost effective, low complexity solution while staying within the Standard Operating Environment (SOE), adhering to the standard software development life cycle methodology, and security standards.Qualifications· Provide comprehensive BI Solutions Architecture for Corporate Enterprise Data Warehouse. Enabling visions including Cognos infrastructure, flow design, hardware configuration, and logical/physical model architecture as related to the application. · Designing and Developing Cognos Framework Manager models, Designing and developing Report Studio and Analysis Studio reports, Designing and developing BI application user interfaces using Cognos Connection and the SDK, and working closely with the Data Warehouse Solutions Architect to ensure designed BI solutions meet end user requirements· Demonstrate expert knowledge in multiple technical and business areas as well as performing a larger leadership role in the origination· Identify current and emerging technologies that define Cognos Solutions Architecture 'Best Practice'.· Evaluate various tools and technologies as applied to the company and the Cognos application.· Participate in the complete implementation, process, and strategies for the development of core solutions and guiding principles. Define Plan, and implementation of overall Cognos solutions as applied to the Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and other business efforts.· Understand and document high-level Cognos reporting requirements as related to the company.· Responsible for multiple projects or large complex projects with cross functional teams and business process· Apply broad in depth business and technical knowledge to establish technical direction and priorities· Resolve and work on issues across multiple functional areas· Effectively monitor and take action to ensure coordination and effectiveness of all components and activities and decide on issues requiring escalation · Incumbents understand the system flow for a project throughout an entire functional area (e.g. Biling, Customer Care) not just a subsystem area· Medium to long range planning responsibilities · Expert level communication, presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills· Expert problem solving and analytic skills· Expert understanding of business application or product being developed· Expert design/coding skills, testing methodologies and techniques· 8-12 years - Overall IT Experience.· 6-8 years - Reporting Tools (i.e. Cognos, MicroStrategy, Actuate, etc.)· 6-8 years - BI Solutions Architecture: Application, Reporting Framework, Processing, Availability, and Scalability.· 6-8 years - BI Solutions: Designing, Developing Cognos Framework Manager models, Report Studio, and Analysis Studio reports.· 6-8 years - Data Base: Oracle (8, 9, 10g, RAC), Teradata, Netezzza, Other Data.· 6-8 years - Leading technical project efforts including project planning, design, build, test, and data conversion/migration as well as report design and builds.· 4-6 years - translating requirements into a solid technical design and solution to include architecture diagrams and design documents.· 4-6 years - Data Warehouse Data Modeling, Architecture, and BI Solutions Delivery.· 6-8 years - OOA/D, Design Patterns, and UML experience.· 3-4 years - DBMS (database management) -MS SQL 2000 / 2005, Oracle 9i / 10g, UDB multi-tenant and multi client environment· 3-4 years - ETL, PL/SQL, C++, Java, CORBA, Oracle PL/SQL, WebSphere, Perl or other development language.· Solid Development Methodology or oversight of complete SDLC for complex projectsPreferred Qualifications:· 10-12 years - Overall IT Experience· 8-10 years technical experience in Cognos Technical Architecture: Application, Reporting Framework, Processing, Availability, and Scalability as related to Data Warehousing.· 6-8 years - BI Solutions: Designing, Developing Cognos Framework Manager models, Report Studio, and Analysis Studio reports.Sears is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
