Responsibilities/Duties

Function: The Business Development/Technical Support Specialist will develop and drive the blueprint / business plan for integrating Elster software to third-party applications to expand the value of our system.

 

The Business Development/Technical Support Specialist will work with third party system integrators to help them set-up and understand Elster software and integrate it with meter data management systems or enterprise applications (such as customer support, billing, outage management, or work order management). The Specialist will also work with third party application developers to help them set up and understand our software and integrate it to their own application/s.

 

Primary Duties:

· Develop and grow partner relationships with system integrators and application developers through information exchange, joint development projects, and joint participation in trade shows, joint system proposals and the like.

· Evaluate the value-add of potential partners/applications to Elster system and present analysis to internal decision-making team.

· Support the Elster Sales teams and Proposal teams when information on third-party applications or integration is needed.

· Provide or arrange for internal training to Elster staff on third-party applications or services.

· Provide technical support to partners who integrate to our software or develop applications for it. 

· Respond to day-to-day information requests and support problem resolution for third-party application partners.

 

Qualifications

This position requires a 4 year degree and 3-4 years with relevant IT experience in a business development role.  The position also requires basic competence with software integration and support of Web Service interfaces, and interfaces that utilize XML and CSV file exchanges.

 

Skills include:

· Functional knowledge of various operating systems. Must be able to install and configure systems that run on the MS Windows 2003 Server Operating system.  Configuration may involve the adjustment of registry setting, SQL manipulation of Oracle database, and editing of XML configuration files.

· Must be able to load and install Oracle database on Windows platform and trouble shoot issues.

· Must be able to diagnose IP communication issues.

· Familiarity with APIs, web services interfaces, SOAP and XML a plus

· Experience running MV90 a plus

 

Experience in high-tech, systems, or engineering consulting solutions is required (Energy or Utility Business experience preferred). Capability to quickly grasp high-tech concepts a must. Understanding of business development, partner support, sales and marketing principles in a professional/technical services environment is desirable.
