Blu - Ray Java Software engineer

Our client is seekingJava Software Engineer, who has extensive experience with the Java programming language and ideally also with J2ME and/or MHP. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated team, in the United States and Europe, creating highly interactive Blu-ray discs. The position will be based in Los Angeles.
* RESPONSIBILITIES *Work alongside the Title Manager (Producers) providing advice and guidance on the technical feasibility of customer requested interactive functionality on Blu-ray discs (BD)
* BD Java development to create highly interactive Blu-ray discs
* Programming of BD functionality using standard tools and BD Java
* BD-live development
* Troubleshooting and code enhancement to optimize playability on CE devices
* Final and in process testing of titles that they are programming
 
REQUIREMENTS
* 2 - 4 years of closely related experience in Java development
* Direct experience in Object Oriented Programming, Game Development, or Animations
* BS is required, MS is a plus
* Very strong programming experience and skill in XML and Java
* Experience in video encoding, audio, graphics
* Knowledge of multimedia tools
* A good technical understanding of video, audio signals and broadcast standards
* J2ME and/or MHP experience
* Experience working in an authoring environment (DVD-BD) and an understanding of physical media formats is a definite plus
* Strong team player - teamwork with java team in Europe
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Ability to act independently
* Works independently, self motivated, target focused and reliable
