BI Architect

Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Job Category: IT/Software Development BI Architect This is a 3+ month contracted position. This is a developer position but background as an Architect would serve well for such a role. The database team at our client has reached out to the Applications Development team to assist them in finding a resource with a strong background in programming (expert level) but has extensive experience with ETL and BI. The Must haves are: 1) experience with ETL (extracting, transforming, and Loading Data) 2.) Must be Proficient in working in an existing application APIs in order to extract data, transform the extracted data for use in creating reports. 3.) Experience in writing Windows/Unix Shell applications. 4.) Experience feeding other applications including custom in-house developed applications (such as Autosys and sunrise) 5.) Must have proven experience working in a BI area with a firm understanding of Multi- Dimensional data analysis . A strong background in Programming(either .net, java). Expertise level is most obviously required! The daily responsibilities include...The Tool is being built on .Net but the primary functions of the individual will be with HFM(Hyperion Finance Management) writing shell scripts. These scripts are what the automated tool (autosys) will call upon in order to run the step of pulling data, transforming it, and loading it somewhere else.This individual will be working with in House applications APIs archtechs, team leads, and technical managers to define requirements, develop, and design the test cases for custom utility. This custom utility tool will then need to Extract data from the HFM, transform data and insert into the tables of a custom In- House application.Communication is a huge aspect in the team as they will be learning not only the technical environment but communicating with people from the Business side as well. The Hyperion Finance Management experience is a huge plus. Hyperion Essbase is a similar tool to HFM so this experience would also be a huge plus. Someone that can hit the ground running without training is the ideal candidate for this ad-hoc environment. They are building tables and reports for that will assist the entire company in delivering global financial automation consolidation. It will forecast business, perform what if analysis for the future business, and help to query responses of large number of users.
