Location: Plano, TX 75024 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Expected Duration: 5+ to 7 Years Pay Rate: Depending on experience Reference Code: 1001072384 Required Skills Minimum of 6 years IT experience. 4+ years experience with Symantec (Veritas) NetBackup software solutions in a large, complex environment  Specific experience with multi-platform backup (HP-UX, AIX, Linux, Windows, vmware, etc.), disk storage units, vaulting, database integration, etc.2+ years experience with SUN/STK tape libraries and associated tape drive technologies  Specific experience with SL8500, ACSLS and LTO tape technologiesProven ability to implement disaster recovery procedures and execute disaster recovery techniquesWorking knowledge and preferably hands-on experience with HP Data ProtectorWorking knowledge and preferably hands-on experience with HP/UX, AIX, Windows, Linux, etc.Functional knowledge of storage area networkingProven ability to lead projects effectivelyBackup & Recovery tools certification is a plusWorking knowledge of database solutions and high availability solutions.A proven track record to come up to speed quickly on new technologies and solutions.A strong desire to drive the availability of the infrastructure systems, and an ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment across multiple geographic locations.Proven ability to work as part of a team, collaborating and partnering together to provide the best customer experience and supportWillingness to manage a 24x7x365 storage and backup environment including on-call rotation, weekend work, etc.Preferred Skills: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experienceJob Responsibilities: Provide backup and recovery technical solutions and support for a large, complex backup and recovery environment. The ideal candidate will possess a very strong working knowledge of Symantec (Veritas) NetBackup, SUN/STK Tape Libraries and Storage Area Networking switching technologies for a tape infrastructure.Provide daily design, administration, support and maintenance to the backup and recovery environment including but not limited to the following: - Design and implementation of backup and recovery solutions across a variety of platforms (HP-UX, AIX, Windows, VMWare, etc.) - Design and implementation of backup and recovery solutions across a variety of database and application environments (SAP, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, Teradata, etc.) - Specialized backup and recovery integration with EMC Cellera (NDMP) and EMC Timefinder - Administration and configuration of Symantec (Veritas) backup and recovery hardware and software - Backup and recovery performance tuning, capacity planning and forecasting - Maintain and support of the backup and recovery environment by coordinating support activities including reactive and proactive maintenance - Developing disaster recover procedures, documentation and participation in disaster recovery exercises - Respond to and resolve escalated customer issues Contact: PLEASE E-MAIL RESUMES TO: Apply by Email
