JOB DESCRIPTION
The Architect works with Sales/Solutions Consultants and customer representatives to create state-of-the-art solutions in the areas of application integration, Internet, e-commerce, and messaging middleware. Must have the ability to provide technical leadership, work with customers to identify requirements, & must have the technical foresight needed to design and develop cost effective solutions that meet functional and performance requirements. Must have the ability to travel as needed to customer sites, up to 70%.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
Minimum 8+ years experience as a software developer with Architectural experience & responsibilities, and MS Computer Science or equivalent with at least 3 years in Government Vertical. Top Secret clearance desired. Secret Clearance, Interim Secret Clearance, or Inactive Secret Clearance required. Excellent understanding of the software product management process. Experience implementing medium to large-scale distributed applications in production; excellent understanding of the issues involved, especially in the government vertical. Experience mapping business requirements to technology capabilities, identifying gaps and omissions and designing end-to-end solutions. Experience with developing multi-threaded and event-driven systems design and message-oriented middleware e.g. TIB/Rendezvous, IBM MQ Series, Vitria, BEA Tuxedo/Q. Strong working knowledge of UNIX and NT operating systems. C++ (UNIX) / MS Visual C++ and Java. Strong working knowledge of RDBMS (e.g. Oracle, Sybase, Informix) and major package applications (e.g. PeopleSoft, Siebel, SAP) and ability to design DB schemas and interface with it using ODBC/JDBC Additional desirable skills: Familiarity with web servers, application servers, ASP/JSP and Servlets. Knowledge of Telco, Energy or semiconductor/manufacturing verticals in sufficient detail to capture enough understanding to establish generic solution frameworks for these verticals. Experience in the Automotive, Aerospace, Logistics, and e-business (B2B and B2C) lines of business (LOBs). Understanding of Network design and operation and performance tuning, and knowledge of ODBMS or O/RDBMS. Experience in the Automotive, Aerospace, Logistics, and e-business (B2B and B2C) lines of business (LOBs), and system performance analysis and capacity planning.
