Applications Programmer 3Description: Responsibilities: • Serve as the lead technical developer, providing leadership in the design and development of service oriented architecture applications, web services, AJAX user interfaces, and enterprise systems architectures and development • Specify, design, develop, modify, test, evaluate, implement, and maintain enterprise level systems and internal applications (both web applications and client-server) and external public facing web applications and sites • Assist in developing efficient and comprehensive test programs for all applications and executing moderately complex test plans • Develop conversion and system implementation plans and perform changes in multiple environments and complex systems • Train users in conversion and implementation of systems • Develop, maintain, and design requirements for new and existing systems • Perform complex data modeling, performance and integration testing • Understand and follow development standards, industry, department and campus practices and department policies and procedures relating to work assignments • Recommend and implement changes in development, maintenance and system standards • Work includes the entire software lifecycle from specification, development, test-to-production processes, quality assurance, implementation, maintenance and documentation of applications Requirements: Requirements & Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training • Demonstrated knowledge/skill/experience in technical team leadership • Experience as a senior developer with small development teams using SOA and Java EE programming, Asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX), and Oracle databases and PL/SQL • Experience with Java EE, Oracle, and TIBCO General Interface required. Experience with SQL Server, Hyperion, Informatica, and Google Web Toolkit desired • Background in applications programming function: Design and development of applications programs; Other related areas of IT • Advanced skills in: Enterprise web applications, web programming languages, object oriented programming concepts, programming design, modification and implementation • Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills as well as interpersonal effectiveness • Experience with developing conversion and system implementation plans This position has been designated as sensitive and may require a Criminal Background Check.
