We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Application Packaging Consultant to work with a team of client-server application package developers. Primary Responsibilities :• Experience with developing application installation scripts/packages using tools like Wise Installer. • Ability to use scripts/packages to do things like error handling, roll-back capability, etc. • Designs and/or adapts application development frameworks and best practices to the development of application packages. • Ensures the design, code, test and documentation of new and/or existing application packages are aligned with standard procedures, products and methodologies. • Designs and/or adapts best practices of application development version control and testing for application package testing. • Ensures customer business requirements are fully understood, documented and expectations are set along business priorities and schedules. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) • Five years of proven experience as a distributed application developer developing medium to large distributed applications. • Three years of proven experience in adapting and implementing System Development Life-Cycle methodologies. • Two years of proven experience in developing and conducting extensive distributed application development quality control testing to include network and client performance. • Familiarity in developing applications using VB Script, .NET, Java Script, and MSSql queries. • Previous application package development in MSI format with building transforms (MST) to customized vendor supplied MSI installations a plus. • Experience providing written time estimates and clearly articulated alternatives for customer evaluations; creating detailed task plans and schedules for project planning and tracking. • Ability handling multiple projects simultaneously, establishing priorities, working under time constraints, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, to include frequent written and verbal communications with the customer and the application development manager. Education Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted.Buchanan Associates is an EEOC.
