Applications Engineer II (Remedy Developer)

This position will be responsible for full-lifecycle application development, implementation, and support for internal IT systems including customizations and 3rd party BMC Remedy  vendor solutions.  Scope includes requirements gathering, analysis, design, prototype/development/configuration, testing and implementation of Varolii IT Enterprise Application solutions to support a new Remedy v7 ITIL/ITSM build out, as well as future custom workflows to support Varolii business processes and audit requirements.

The successful candidate will be able to multi-task, possesses creative problem solving skills, and has the ability to learn and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where individuals can see their results contribute to company performance.ResponsibilitiesProvide application system support and development for the Varolii Remedy 7 solution platform used for Customer Management/Call Center, Professional Services organization, and data center operations team service desks including enterprise workflow, incident management, change management, assets and SLAs.Interact with business owner, business community, and other IT teams to analyze/clarify business processes to define functional requirements and technical specifications Provide estimates on development effort and proposed technical solutions to business problems Work closely with other IT team members/groups within the organization in planning, design, acquisition, configuration and implementation of complex application systemsProvide technical consultation to other IT team members in solving application systems problemsProvide on-call support of critical applications and may coordinate on call response efforts with other IT team members as neededWork under general supervision and may provide specific guidance to others on complex assignmentsRequirements3+ years of BMC Remedy solution development including v6 solution implementation is required. Prior implementation experience with v7 and ITIL best practices is highly desirable.ITIL trained/certified persons would be desirable but not required.Application/Software development skills in an object-oriented programming languageDatabase development and reporting skills with an enterprise RDBMS, Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting Services or other enterprise reporting package Demonstrated experience in n-tier application development, support, and integration with enterprise IT systems is required.  Experience with Remedy development on the following OS platforms: Windows required, Linux desirableStrong analytical, problem solving, written & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience Ability to take initiative and ownership by working independently or in a team environment Domain knowledge of call center business process, incident management, workflow and business orchestration is highly recommendedExperience5-7 years of direct experience in n-tier multi-client (client server and web) application support and development with a 100+ user population in a geographically distributed environment BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
