Applications Development - Database Developer

This position reports to the Database Architect and involves direct responsibility for the design, maintenance, and support the company’s Database Systems. The ideal candidate requires a high level of analytical and creative skills and an in-depth knowledge of database structure, configuration, methodology, design, and maintenance. Experience with MS SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 is a must!

 

Typical duties include:

 Design, model and document database schemas. Develop stored procedures, views, functions and triggers. Perform analysis, tuning and optimizations of large (terabyte+) databases. Work with application developers to design and develop database objects and structures according to project specifications. Address data quality issues with users, vendors and management.



QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required:

 3+ Years of direct, hands-on experience as a Database Programmer. Strong Relational Database Modeling Skills. T-SQL Programming Experience in SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related degree Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work in an independent, self-directed manner and to perform equally as well as part of a team.



Not Required, but Preferable:

 MCDBA certification Knowledge of Business Intelligence applications Familiar with Dot Net Programming (C# or VB.Net) Financial Background or Experience Data warehousing Experience
