Application Specialist - Professional Services Department

Summary: Provide technical account management and application integration assistance for Gracenote customers.

Ensure customers and their products/projects are successful: Assist customers in designing & building market leading products Ensure a positive customer and end-user experience Accelerate customer's time-to-market with development assistance, guidance, and project coordination

RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineering:Thoroughly understand Gracenote products and become the expert on how these products can best be integrated with customer specific applications. Create and maintain AIS (Advanced Integration Services) programs for Gracenote customers/developers, including documentation, sample code and occasional on-site implementation and debugging assistance. Develop sample applications and code snippets for customers that demonstrate common use cases and innovative ways to utilize Gracenote technologies. Create clear presentations that describe how to best integrate Gracenote products into customer systems. Deliver customer feedback and feature requests to Professional Services, Product Management and Engineering teams. Project Management: Assist account executives in assessing, scoping, and documenting custom work for strategic customer projects. Maintain excellent technical depth, good business communication skills, excellent attention to detail and follow-up.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSB.S. Computer Science with 5+ years of experience developing Windows and embedded applications/systems or a minimum of 8-10 years equivalent experience. Programming Languages: C/C++ Platforms: Windows, UNIX Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be, or become, expert at communicating effectively and authoritatively in the area of systems and/or applications that enable the delivery/consumption/management of digital media and related content. Solid project management and customer coordination experience Ability to work independently and professionally, especially in direct customer/partner facilities. Ability to devise solutions to unexpected problems in a way mutually beneficial to Gracenote and the customer. Must be enthusiastic about Gracenote products and services in addition to having a personal passion for music and the digital media industry.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSProgramming Languages: Java Mobile platform development experience (e.g., BREW, Symbian, WinCE). Strong digital media experience is a plus, especially with Gracenote products. SQL familiarity. Web application development (Apache, PHP, Java). Familiarity or experience with databases.

This position will require travel in the USA and throughout the world, though travel is not expected to exceed 10% of total time.
