Application Specialist, PACS

Responsible for one-on-one and classroom instruction of medical staff (radiologists, radiology technologists and radiology staff) on the basic toolsets and features involved with a PACS.  Identify and propose product enhancements based on client engagements, while providing high visibility within the organization.  Must possess the ability to establish priorities, maintain training schedules, work independently and in a team environment, and proceed with objectives without direct supervision.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Deliver (50-75%) training at client site locations such as hospitals, universities and imaging centers (nation-wide travel required).Deliver (25%) classroom training to system administrators at AMICAS headquarters (Daytona Beach FL). Writing tips for system administrators and medical staff to be included in the monthly newsletter.Deliver application training remotely using Webex desktop sharing application Exemplary written and oral communication skills

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university

· One (1) year Radiology/Diagnostic imaging experience

· In-depth knowledge of diagnostic imaging and radiology workflow with current modalities and study procedures

· Experience as a Radiology Technologist strongly preferred (soft-copy environment is ideal)

· Experience in Healthcare Information Technology strongly preferred

· Field training experience of Radiologists and/or Technologists

· Knowledge of Workstation and Interpretation Tools and Adult Instruction Techniques

 

Necessary Knowledge:Radiology WorkflowExperience with training adult learners in a classroom environmentBasic Information Technology background with an understanding of basic networkingBasic DICOM and HL7 understanding as it pertains to radiology workflow.
