Active Directory Administrator

Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Job Category: IT/Software Development Active Directory Administrator Our client is seeking a mid-level Microsoft Active Directory Administrator to ensure the availability and continuity of MS Active Directory, as well as working on a diverse array of deliverables in a large, enterprise environment of about 10,000 users/11,400 Mailboxes. This is a long term contract with the option to go permanent in 2009. This individual will work on a team with a typical total size of 16 members, with 8 resources dedicated to messaging (Exchange) and 8 for Active Directory. There are currently 6 on the Active Directory team.Qualified individuals will have 3 - 5 years of experience supporting, maintaining and assisting in the design of Active Directory and Windows platforms in an Enterprise environment comprised of 5,000 or more users. Additional Qualifications:- Experience with migration and consolidation of directory and messaging environments, and from other directories into Active Directory - Managing and integrating multiple directory environments - Integrating applications to authenticate and authorize with Active Directory - Automating user provisioning with an ERP system - Setting up Active Directory account self-service - In-depth knowledge of several Microsoft server-based products (e.g. ISA, IIS, MIIS, Exchange 2003 Enterprise, SharePoint, SQL Server 2005 Enterprise, Windows Server 2003) - Mobility support experience (Blackberry Enterprise Server, MS ActiveSync) - Experience managing anti-virus and spam filtering products (MS Antigen, Symantec Mail Security) - Knowledge of industry best practices related to email routing, filtering, monitoring, storage, backup and disaster recovery - Solid understanding of networking and distributed computing concepts, including the principles of network routing, load balancing and client/server environments - Experience managing Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) a plus - Strong interpersonal skills including listening, verbal, written/presentation - Comfortable working in a dynamic, highly communicative team environment - BS in Computer Science or IS This person will be responsible for providing in-depth/third level operational support as well as planning, design and configuration for the Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Identity Integration Server Environments. The company has acquired several other companies and there is a major focus to integrate technologies, migrate and perform directory consolidation and identity access management. This person will be expected to assist with building/designing and maintenance of Directory Consolidation for larger environments.Additional Responsibilities Include: - Developing life-cycle oriented processes and procedures for maintenance and support - Monitor system utilization & capacity, and assess results in order to define future system capacity requirements - Review virus and spam filtering products for effectiveness - Assist in setting standards for delivery of Identity and Messaging services - Assist maintaining technology road maps for services - Research and evaluate new products and technologies that enhance and improve services in response to business or technical drivers This role will require a dedicated, driven and knowledgeable individual who works well while unsupervised as well as in a team environment.
