Responsible for visioning, advanced technological design, delivery, measurement and optimization of the storage resources that support the University's enterprise-wide business, technology and academic applications. Solutions delivered by the architect will support all types of mission-critical information and will typically consist of large-scale, high-performance, shared-infrastructure storage subsystems that house the University's data. You will be required to participate in business planning activities in order to understand and establish the necessary policies and regulations that will govern the usage and lifecycle of data storage and backup enterprise level resources. Interface with the disaster recovery and system backup groups to insure the ongoing coherence and continuance of the data environment.


 



What You'll Need to Succeed: Bachelor's degree in related field and at least 4 years related technical experience 2-4 Unix/Linux based systems (Solaris, Fedora, RHES, etc.) and Windows (2K3 Enterprise, NT, Vista) Experience must include a working knowledge of RedHat Linux operating systems installation and operation, including BootP, PXE, and Kickstart Basic networking and advanced system security in all environments At least 3 years of demonstrated operational experience with EMC SANs and FLARE (or equivalent other vendor product) day-to-day operations iSCSI and NAS skills a plus Demonstrated VMWare experience in a production environment
