Windows/Unix Systems Support Specialist

This is a great client of ours and we know the hiring manager personally.  We can provide very quick feedback.  This is a perm, fulltime opening, with 30-40% travel.

 

Position Description

Position is responsible for first tier operations support to QA, development, and the individual jurisdictions for systems.The Corporate Operations Support Team performs new system installation, configuration management, and operational site support, supports existing system operations, and rotates on call 24/7.

 Job responsibilities include:

System Configuration (AEGIS or Masterlink) System Operations (AEGIS or Masterlink) System Performance Analysis and troubleshooting of production problems Data Center Management and Support Technical Documentation Unix/Linux Shell Scripting and some SQL query authoring Provides onsite support during system implementations and system overhauls Performs system integration and performance stress testing 24/7 Rotating On-call support Conducts site audits of operations, and as required institutes changes to assure compliance to company standards System Administration and Support: UNIX/AIX Linux Enterprise Windows Server Database Administration in MS SQL Proprietary Software







Position Requirements:

 Proficiency in a PC Networks environment with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access. Experienced with Windows 2000/2003 and UNIX/Linux Operating Systems. Well developed oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to maintain positive working relationships in a team and inter-team environment. Prior Data Center Managers or Applications Specialists are highly desirable. Experience with Production Systems highly desirable. Professional certification in applicable software applications desirable.
