Windows Systems Engineer

Mosso, an early-stage startup backed by Rackspace Managed Hosting develops The Hosting System, a revolutionary product with an extremely ambitious goal: to overturn the way just about everything is done in our industry.

 

We are looking for an expert Windows-based Hosting Engineer who is passionate about building one of the most advanced and reliable infrastructure platforms on the internet. This is a rare opportunity to put cutting-edge Microsoft hosting concepts directly into practice, including: multi-node clusters, high availability databases, and centralized storage (NAS, CIFS, iSCSI). Our customers are web developers; your charter is to help build them the hosting environment of their dreams. You'll spend 100% of your time emerged in and obsessed with advanced hosting technology.

Job Requirements:


Here's what we need from you:

 

• A track record of at least 3 years building Windows hosting environments. If you also dabble in Linux, that's a huge plus. (Mosso actually supports both platforms—besides, our favorite people enjoy playing with a wide range of technologies.)

• You must possess the ability to stand alone in a very technically advanced environment where you may experience and be responsible for solving challenging issues

• Experience administering Active Directory, IIS and  MS SQL in multi-server environments, along with experience supporting ASP and .Net.

• The ability to research Microsoft best practices, backed by the willingness to “toss out the book” when we need find our own, unique way to accomplish our goals. PSS has a lot of answers—but certainly not all of them. Mosso does some things Microsoft originally told us weren't possible.

• A passion for your work that's energizing and contagious.

• A bent towards small teams, startups, and the unique opportunities (and idiosyncrasies) inherent in being an early participant in building something special.
