Web Operations Manager
Business/Strategic Management Relevant Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Job SummaryThe MathWorks is looking for a person to lead the team responsible for front-end architecture and operations of mathworks.com and 12 international websites. Team responsibilities include site search engine, domain management, business ownership of site performance and reliability, front-end design technologies, publishing tools, link integrity, etc. ResponsibilitiesManage team responsible for collaborating with visual designers, usability specialists, and application developers to: • Define, communicate and apply HTML, CSS, and JavaScript coding standards for use in content management systems, web applications (including eCommerce and electronic software distribution) and site template engines • Own and engineer structured CSS to control web page elements for over 90,000 web pages • Determine overall cohesiveness, functionality, and navigation of the websites • Translate wireframes and prototypes into production-quality templates • Construct website elements such as navigation tools, page layout templates, graphical elements, form elements, color schemes, etc. • Ensure lead integrity for all Marketing-related activities • Coach and train new staff including designers, temps, co-ops, etc Primary liaison to IT team to define site infrastructure responsibilities, including: • Represent business interests in site performance meetings and site architecture decisions • Create quarterly reports and run site infrastructure meetings with IT • Definition and monitoring service level agreements Additional responsibilities include: • Collaborate with web designers to define design patterns including code examples • Conduct code reviews as needed and coach team to ensure compliance • Define browsers that will be supported and tested • Help team maintain and update site content when necessary • Effectively manage and execute numerous Web projects simultaneously • Evaluate, recommend, and customize tools and technologies Qualifications• Bachelors degree • 5+ years or more of relevant experience building large complex Web sites • 3+ years experience with design and usability of web enabled applications • 2+ years of team leadership/management experience • Expertise in hand coding XHTML Strict, Cascading Style Sheets 2.0, JavaScript • Strong working knowledge of W3C Web Standards, section 508 compliance • Expert knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform compatibility and design constraints • Solid understanding of design and usability principles Company: The MathWorks, Inc.Reference Code: 6913 ©2006 The MathWorks, Inc.
