Web Developer - Java Developer

Job Description:  MTI is looking for a Web Developer/Java Developer with power builder experience (a plus), for our Corporate Office in Oxon Hill Maryland.The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a system-level focus while understanding the impact of every component.  Broad knowledge of and exposure to J2EE application development are essential for success in this role. 

Responsibilities:  Write design specifications and functional specifications. Design, develop, enhance and maintain system software for Java based products. Follow standard design and implantation processes and procedures. Develop well-defined software modules. Perform well-defined unit, product level integration, and dev tests. Write portions of test plans. Debug sections of the subsystem.  Ability to solve routine problems at the module or multiple module level, based on knowledge of debugging and testing concepts.  Develop core technology, including the design/architecture of new solutions, the refinement of existing code, and the optimization of dynamic web content.  Work with project team to fulfill requests in the project queue, assessing impact and involving the data systems and network operations teams when necessary. Develop and maintain web applications written in Java/JSP/Servlets, operating on Windows / UNIX / Linux / Solaris platforms.


Required Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent training with 5+ yrs related experience. 

Requires knowledge of the following software technologies: Power Builder (a plus), J2EE, JavaScript, Web Application Development, HTML, JDBC, SUN1, and Oracle 10g.
