We are looking for an experienced Web Developer II to support our Seattle (located near the south end of Lake Union) client. The candidate hired will be required to have a clean 10 year background check. This is a contract position with the potential to hire. Must be able to start within two weeks of offer.
Job Description
Implements & supports the Company’s Internet strategy based on strategic business goals. Provide technical expertise to enhance the external & internal Internet sites, focusing on the development, testing, implementation and operational support of Internet-based tools and Internet-database interfaces and resolving other Internet technical issues. Partner with team members in business and technology, participates in project management process as leader in specific tool or function development. Mentors and teaches team-members on best-practices and new technologies. Participate in usability testing.
How your time will be spent:50 % - Develop, test, implement & support interactive or database-driven Internet pages in a timely & accurate manner. Utilize good systems development methodology to create easy to maintain & support applications. Ensure appropriate documentation of work to enable other staff to maintain & update the pages. 20% - Consult with other members of the IS Internet team and the Data Analyst group to develop innovative Internet-based solutions for managing and displaying large amounts of data, focusing on Internet database solutions. 10% - Quickly & creatively assess the applicability of new Internet technologies to company’s Internet site design & development. Work with the Internet content team to incorporate the new technologies into the day-do-day Internet site development efforts. 10% - Assist web content team with the technical development of graphical user interfaces for Internet sites. 10% - Continually upgrading Internet skills to keep up with rapid changes in the field.
RequirementsMinimum - Associate’s degree in computer studies, plus 2 years training/experience in Internet tools and processes. Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Sciences, 3 years Internet training/experience and proficiency certification in below software. Minimum - 2 years experience in an intranet/internet environment. Preferred - 2-3 years professional experience including Internet application development and working on a team.
Knowledge / Skills
· Minimum - Knowledge of and tactical expertise in JavaScript, client- and/or server-based scripting, HTML, DHTML, XML, JSP, image-mapping and other Internet graphics development tools and able to work cooperatively with other team members. Understanding of JAVA, CGI and UNIX.
· Great Communication Skills and Team work a must
· Preferred - Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills required, project management skills. Ability to partner with business and technology partners. Knowledge of database access utilities, database design & project management.
