JOB SUMMARY: The Vice President, Information Technology's primary responsibility is to oversee the core operations of the IT department and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the Hill-Rom organization. This leader establishes, plans and administers the overall policies and goals for the information technology department; analyzes the needs of departments, creates the vision for IT and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, systems design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company's information processing systems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish these goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the management of all IT functional areas including but not limited to infrastructure, networks, disaster recovery, security, business application development and support, outsourced services, business intelligence, architecture and portfolio management across multiple sites both domestic and international ensuring that both IT projects and day to day operations meet organizational and customer expectationsCreate a cross-business and functional understanding of how technology can enable or limit business results and the financial impact of technology decisions- integrate IT as a high leverage contributor to the businessProvide leadership in creating IT strategies, tactics and a project portfolio that are tightly aligned with company and departmental strategies and tacticsAnticipate business technology needs and present solution road-maps to IT Operations Review Board quarterly for strategic planning and prioritizationWork with IT Team to identify emerging technologies to prepare the platform to support future business needsPerform as an effective member of Senior Management and key contributor to enterprise-wide technology solution developmentDevelop and implement business and IT processes to a high degree of maturity across the organization using CMM or other accepted rigorPartner with business to implement and enhance effective and efficient technical controls and processes that minimize risk and enhance operational performance in an FDA and HIPAA regulated environmentLead timely and accurate budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes for IT function in coordination with other Shared Services groupsServe as chair for the Portfolio Review Board (PRB) which reviews all upcoming technology projects and drives delivery of business caseWorking with vendor management group maintain relationships and perform negotiations of large scale contracts with vendors and suppliers of hardware and software in order to ensure timely updates and problem resolution as requiredHire, maintain and develop IT management staff that will be both IT and Business Leaders in the organization and who should be the drivers of the delivery of IT Solutions RoadmapsThis position will have leaders from each IT towers of service reporting to them which currently include, Shared Services, Customer Care Management, Business Applications and International IT.Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area; MBA strongly preferred.8+ years of experience in IT Management and Leadership. Track record for instituting ITIL, CMM or ISO certified level approaches, systems and work processes especially in project and process management, Six Sigma certification or training is a plusSolid knowledge of IT standards, process, infrastructure, and systems. Successful past accountability for systems development infrastructure and support, including the management of successful, large and small scale systems implementation projects utilizing both custom and ?off the shelf? software applicationsExperience with ERP systems such as JDEdwards (or similar in scope and complexity)Experience in having built and transformed an IT group in close partnership with business line leaders Effective top-level written and oral communication skillsExperience managing technical resourcesAbility to lead and influence others in a dynamic work environmentProven ability to hire, retain and develop peopleAbility to perform independently and collaboratively with other departments to meet complex business needsStrong conceptual, analytical, problem solving, decision making and planning skillsHigh-level knowledge of multiple technologies, multi-platform distributed environments, middleware and database designProficient with productivity applications (i.e., word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)Experience in large scale global business systems (3000+ users) a plus.Experience in an outsourced environment a plus.Experience with deploying and supporting technology in a regulatory environment (FDA, SOX) a plus.
