As the largest domain registrar in the world and largest hosting provider in North America Go Daddy is seeking a Unix/Linux Engineer. The position of Unix/Linux Engineer will be responsible for designing and maintaining a reliable, scalable, secure and HA (High Availability) Linux and Solaris systems environment. The position will require an in depth understanding of Solaris in enterprise environments as well as the LAMP solution (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). The ideal candidate will be a proven technical leader with solid operating system administration skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Administration and configuration of Solaris systems · Administration and configuration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers · Ownership of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Lifecycle Management · Working with development and testing staff to identify requirements and implement solutions. · The position requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and the individual must possess a structured, methodical approach to systems administration. · Documenting processes and procedures Skills/Requirements Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience · Solaris Certified Systems Administrator and/or RHCE or equivalent certification is preferred · 3+ years experience as a Linux/UNIX Engineer or developer · Working knowledge of the following applications and technologies: Linux, Solaris, Apache, Tomcat, CVS or Subversion, PHP, DNS (BIND), Perl, Shell scripting · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Proven ability to plan, document and effectively implement projects and systems · Experience managing large server environments (thousands of servers) Experience in the following is a plus: · C/C++, Java, Python, Ruby, MySQL · Server Virtualization Technologies · Knowledge of Networking, Routing and Switching Technologies · SAN and NAS technologies (iSCSI, FCP, CIFS, NFS, etc) We offer a competitive salary + bonus, 100% employer-paid medical and dental coverage, three weeks of paid vacation plus two paid personal days available in your first year of employment, an exceptional 401(k) package, and a generous educational assistance program, among numerous other benefits.GoDaddy.com is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer!
