Unix/AIX Application Administrator

Provide information research services and communication consulting services to effectively target and communicate information to the right audience. Position SummaryResponsible for maintenance and performance monitoring of our Automated Metering Applications servers. Focus on Aclara TNG (electric meter) applications, but backup duties for Aclara RF STAR and Ecologic Analystics, MDMS. We are seeing a Unix/AIX Applicaiton Adminstorator to be repsonsible for our SmartMeter servers. This position will be located in San Ramon.  Responsibilities:  Tasks include: Management of AMI IT Systems to meet data delivery requirements. Measurement of AMI data delivery systems metrics. Configuration / execution of batch jobs, scripts, etc. to enable the 24 hr clock and monthly and yearly processing. Coordination with FFIOC monitoring. User access and admin and functional configuration. Proactive and reactive ad hoc inquires for OS status, application health, scheduled processes. Report development and management for ad hoc and production Coordinate OS patch management and application upgrades Develop and document operations guides for system maintenance. Comply with PG&E practices and procedures for security, SOX, and change control. For patches and new releases, install, configure and administer applications in pre-production environments; participate in pre-QA smoke tests. Interface management to other systems, Ecologic Analytics MDMS, etc. Backup and recovery coordination and testing Meet or exceed departmental metrics (scorecard) for problem response/resolution timeframes and for internal customer satisfaction with SmartMeter IT Operations services. Project Management: Utilize PMI practices to effectively manage the scope, schedule, cost and quality of assigned projects. Safety: Conduct all work safely and promote safe work practices. Attend all safety meetings and training sessions.
