USA jobs: Business Objects Administrator

CGI is looking for several Business Objects administrators to join our Federal Business Unit in Durham, NC. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing team supporting multiple applications, and customers. Successful candidates will be afforded the opportunity to expand their skillets across the breadth of EPA’s technical architecture and advance their careers at their own pace. .

In this role, you will be responsible for administration and support of multiple Business Objects XI environments. The ideal candidate will provide administration and implementation support for various projects in BO XI R2 and R3 platforms, including Business Objects Web Intelligence (Webi), Universe Design and Data Integrator.

Responsibilities include:
•In-depth knowledge of BOE Enterprise and all its services, clustering, failover and so forth on large environments
•Installing, Configuring and administering BO XI environments in Windows and/or UNIX platform
•Experienced in administration of BO XI Webi and DI servers across multiple environments
•Plan, Administer and Maintain BO folder hierarchy and security
•Creating users/user groups and setting up user security
•Defining and maintaining Business Objects Universes
•Plan and test patches and new releases to all Business Intelligence tools
•Upgrading the BO from one version to another and also applying the Hotfixes for that particular release
•Develop effective standards, best practices, procedures and key metrics to enhance operational stability of the BO environments
•Develop support procedures for Business Objects version XIR2/XIR3 infrastructure
•Backup the Metadata on daily, weekly and monthly basis
•Migrating the BO Project/Objects from Development to Validation and then to production environment
•Tuning the System for best performance and monitor the system usage
•Administering report delivery using the distribution services
• Development of universes based on dimensional models
•Maintaining optimal performance of business intelligence application, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and tuning
•Interacting effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Required Skills:

•Proficient experience in Data warehousing and BO XI Administration
•Experience with the entire Business Objects XI R2/R3 Application Suite
• Experience with Business Objects XI R2/R3 in a Data Mart or Data Warehouse environment
•Experience in developing Business Objects reports and universes
•Working knowledge of Windows and UNIX Operating Systems
•Experience with SQL
