UNIX Systems Administrator Needed in Cary NC

NWN Corporation is currently looking for a strong UNIX Systems Administrator for one of our clients in the Cary, North Carolina area.  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to installing and maintaining Red Hat Linux, Solaris Server & Workstation systems (including System maintenance and patches), monitor systems for health, security and load using existing standards and procedures, maintenance of existing storage solutions and compute clusters and local file systems, provisioning storage using existing standards and procedures, and maintaining and administering LSF Cluster and Citrix Logon Server Farm.



Skills Required:

· Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.

· After hour / on call support in rotation with other admins

· Linux (Mainly Red Hat) and Solaris knowledge.

· Installation (Kick Start & Jump Start) and configuration of UNIX  & Linux systems.

· Knowledge in NAS technology (NetApp).

· Shell & Perl Scripting.

· Load Sharing Facility (LSF) experience



Skills that would be a plus:

· Venus or other configuration management tool (CFengine, rdist)

· Citrix Administration (Unix)

· Expert knowledge of NetApp Filers

· Backup software knowledge (NetBackup)

· Printing under UNIX (CUPS)

· HP/UX and Ignite



Experience:

4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in IT Computer Science or Equivalent.

5+ years of work experience in the IT field of Unix System Administration.

3 years of work experience in the IT field of Linux System Administration.
