Job Category:Systems Primary Location:USA-VA: VIRGINIA-FT BELVOIRSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Standard Employee Status:RegularJob Posting: 2008-09-05Description: Seeking UNIX Systems Administrator with extensive Apple Mac OS X and Xserve experience to support a dynamic DoD Web Services Organization (Applicants must be a US Citizen and possess a valid DoD Secret Security Clearance). Essential Job Functions Support a large DoD installation located at Fort Belvoir, VA. Qualified candidates should have at least five years of experience and strong Mac OS X and UNIX skills, including building, deploying and administering Apple servers in a production or ISP environment. The primary responsibility for this position will be to administer an Apple Xserve infrastructure running Mac OS X Server. Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Mac OS X Server running on multiple Apple Xserves. Manage the servers from the command line, with Apple Remote Desktop, and with Apple's server management applications. Create and manage user accounts. Track Mac OS X Server security updates and apply them in a production environment with minimal server downtime. Implement DoD security requirements on the Xserves.The secondary responsibility for this position will be to support our general infrastructure, including: BIG IP, backup and restore, user management, switches, netapps, LINUX, Solaris, DNS, SMTP, Security, and DISCAP. Assist with emerging technologies, including virtual server environments, LAN storage, SOA, Web Services, and LDAP. Candidates should have: (1) a strong Mac OS X and UNIX background administering servers and/or applications; (2) the ability to work within a security infrastructure, PKI, SSL and firewalls, including an understanding of DoD security policies; and (3) be comfortable working in a command line UNIX environment. Must be a team player able to work on site with daily direct customer interaction and be able to adapt to shifting priorities. Candidate will be an integrated member of a team consisting of Government and Contractor staff. Highly Desired Qualifications Technical experience with: Mac OS X, Sun Solaris, or UNIX.
