UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator

UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator We are looking for a technically skilled individual with good analytical skills and a strong work ethic to join a team responsible for deploying and maintaining the 24x7 operations of all production Linux and UNIX systems across the company.  Must have experience with system configurations and support procedures that promote monthly service uptime of at least 99.9%. Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  Provide tier 3 support services for Linux and UNIX systems in the enterprise. Responsibilities include host security, performance analysis and corrections, disk space management and responding to network issues and hardware failures.  Build operational policies and procedures for successfully running UNIX and Linux in a large enterprise environment. Automate regular operational tasks using shell and Perl scripts. Clearly document maintenance and support procedures for routine tasks in order to leverage tier 1 NOC support.  Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and off-hours maintenance windows. Candidates must have:  4 year college degree or equivalent background is required. Minimum of three years experience as a UNIX Systems Administrator with at least two years supporting a highly available 24x7 production Solaris environment. Experience in on-call environments.  Ability to help others in a fast paced and perpetually changing systems environment. Experience with shell and Perl scripting. Working knowledge of SSL, SSH, and PGP. Highly desire prior experience with Solaris 10 or RHEL4/5 Experience with Sun Update Connection is a plus Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks in parallel and prioritize between them.
