Our Psychology department is currently seeking an Academic Technology Administrator. Responsibilities will include: Acting as liaison to members of Fordham IT to develop, implement, maintain and demonstrate new technologies. Supporting existing technologies including internal websites. Implementing and monitoring training programs, orientations and workshops for faculty and students. Implementing and maintaining database and spreadsheet programs to manage all departmental information including: Faculty activity, graduate student activity, alumni activity, course enrollments, graduate student financial aid, personnel proceedings, SEEQ date, performance evaluations, admissions data for graduate programs, PhD Comprehensive exams, grading guidelines, and resulting scores and developing strategy for assessing the validity and reliability of PhD comprehensive exam grading. Improving, maintaining and updating departmental website. Acquiring, managing and maintaining instructional and research technology and instrumentation in classrooms and research labs. Securing, installing and maintaining specialized statistical and psychometric software for use by faculty and graduate students. Administrating psychological testing operations. Developing and updating Blackboard sites to communicate information to graduate and undergraduate students about placements, funding, internships, and teaching opportunities. Maintaining and running computer program for clinical admissions. Providing training and consultation to faculty, staff, and students regarding technological resources. Creating and maintaining email groups for communication with undergraduate psychology majors, graduate students, teaching fellow, faculty, adjuncts and alumni. Editing and disseminating Department newsletter to faculty, students, and alumni. Other duties are required as assigned. Qualified candidates must have a four-year degree in computing, technology or a related field. We seek a self-starter who can work effectively in a team and alone on both large and small projects, with strong oral and written communication skills. Must have hands-on practical knowledge of instructional technologies and training and experience working in a college environment. Solid knowledge of HTM and Web design skills are desirable. Must have solid knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, presentation technologies, and other desktop production tools (Adobe products & project management tools); solid analytical, diagnostic, organizational, and problem-solving skills; knowledge of multimedia technologies, Web technologies, research tools and database production tools; knowledge of Windows, UNIX and Mac OS; and have a “hands-on” approach when working with the faculty.
