Technical Support Engineer/Information Systems Architect
Our client is a leading provider of cutting edge digital applications that enhance consumer’s access to information while on the go. Currently they are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their team.
The Technical Support Engineer/Information Systems Architect will be the liaison between customers, other teams and anything related to the technical environment. Any program operations pertaining to the environment, monitoring the products and supporting the software will be the responsibility of the person in this position. This position requires interfacing with other teams and customers and thus will be the Subject Matter Expert providing all knowledge. The ability to gather requirements from other teams and provide a teamwork atmosphere to properly ensure those requirements are integrated into current environment is essential.
Responsibilities:
-Work closely with other teams and positions to implement all projects.
-Have the ability to troubleshoot application issues on a UNIX system, escalating to the proper team if necessary
-Have the ability to troubleshoot database problems, escalating to the proper team if necessary
-Manage all projects that are brought to the information systems team
-Have the ability to interface with those of a higher level in order to properly follow all of the company’s strategies and practices pertaining to projects
-Document all processes of the projects: requirements, plans, environment architecture
-Assist in writing technical specifications to develop the environment
-Assist customers with the technical architecture planning for in house products as well as external products.
Qualifications:
-Previous project management experience/leadership experience
-Strong experience with UNIX, Linux, Solaris, Windows
-Excellent communication abilities
-Experience with monitoring tools such as HP Openview, NetCool, SysWatch, etc.
-Approximately four years of relevant technical support experience
-Either a degree or equivalent work experience (or combination of the two)
