Title: Technical Marketing Manager-Mechanical CAD #65623 Location: Lake Oswego, OR General Summary: Autodesk, selected as one of Fortune magazine's "100 Fastest Growing Companies", is seeking an experienced and results-driven Technical Marketing Manager for our Mechanical Design product line. The Technical Marketing Manager will play a key role in helping to communicate the value of Autodesk manufacturing solutions and technology vision to the market. The successful candidate will drive adoption of new sales tools through technical leadership, commitment to developing high quality technical sales tools and evangelizing their benefits with the sales team and channel partners. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Sales Readiness and Support Creates technical content for sales collateral and sales tools, including screenshots, PPT presentations, and scripted product demos for use by the field sales, partners and resellers in a typical sales process. Collaborates closely with Product Marketing, Industry Marketing and Product Management teams to ensure materials are reinforcing key messages and support division business goals. Trains internal and external Application Engineers on delivering product presentations and demonstrations. Develops video materials for use in sales campaigns and web marketing including generation of scripts, storyboards and video content. Works with Product Marketing to support production of final content. Develops, extends, and maintains sample design data sets as needed for product demonstrations; works with customers to acquires new data sets. Provides product and market expertise, including demos, for events including conferences, tradeshows, webinars, and seminars as well as high visibility events such as product launches, press and analyst briefings. Supports the Autodesk manufacturing user community by publishing technical content such as tips and tricks. Identifies and documents product requirements to simplify demonstration and evaluation of the product. Supports a cross functional team developing product training programs for the channel. Maintains a comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of the technologies, industry practices, business processes, applications and solutions in the global manufacturing market. Builds, maintains and manages relationships with external technical consultants in order to tap specialized expertise as needed. Interfaces Customers, Sales, Channel Partners, Press, Analysts, Directors, Product Marketing Managers, Product Line Managers Requirements / Desired Knowledge Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Excellent technical knowledge of 3D CAD/CAE software usage including simulation and analysis (e.g. Autodesk Inventor, COSMOSWorks or Ansys). Experience with AutoCAD a plus. Working knowledge of image and video editing software, e.g. Paint Shop Pro, Camtasia, Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas. Approx 10% travel with trips of up to one week duration Skills: Verbal Communication and Presentation - Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at different levels of an organization, clearly present information and deliver dynamic presentations in front of live audiences. Writing - Demonstrated ability to communicate in writing and adapt writing styles to different audiences and goals. Experience with creating web based or video communication - such as a blogs or podcasts. Awareness of sales and business issues as they impact the sales cycle and software adoption. Good organizational, leadership, decision-making, interpersonal, time management and communication skills. Work Experience: 4+ years in Engineering, Manufacturing or related experience.
