Job Category:Accounting and Payroll Primary Location:USA-VA: VIRGINIA-FALLS CHURCHSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Standard Employee Status:Regular No Job Posting: 2008-09-03Description: CSC's Corporate Tax Department in Falls Church, VA is searching for a Tax Manager, Tax Accounting & Reporting! This position manages routine to moderately complex activities of the tax accounting department to include tax research, planning, and compliance required of organization Essential Job Functions Manages the financial statement reporting of tax provision and related disclosures on a quarterly and annual basis (FIN 18, FAS 109, FIN 48). Must understand company's business and financial results thereof (US GAAP), tax law (IRC, Regs, authorities), as well as tax accounting principles Responsible for the creation and maintenance of tax basis balance sheets Responsible for drafting and review of FIN 48 documentation, monitoring and updating Establishes and maintains Sarbox 404 controls and documentation related thereto Close coordination with Federal Tax function for tax budgeting and forecasting Responsible for monitoring and evaluating impacts of tax law changes, and changes to CSC's facts on the provision. Close coordination with International and State Tax teams re subject matter expertise re same Develop and maintain critical relationships between Tax and Controllers, Treasury, Legal, and Business Units to ensure Tax has a well-informed view of the business operations Monitor and coach Senior Tax Accountants in departmentBasic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred Nine or more years of tax accounting or finance experience Experience working with tax laws and procedures Experience working with tax forms and processing Experience working with accounting principles and accounting software and databases Experience working with auditing and generally accepted accounting principles Other Qualifications Good analytical and problem solving skills Good editing skills in order to review legal documents Planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work Personal computer and business solutions software skills Communication skills for providing documentation to support personnel, customers, and managers Good human relations skills to select, develop, mentor, discipline and reward employees Ability to work independently and as part of a team Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:None Create Success
