VA Healthcare Systems Engineer- North Chicago, IL

·  Experience designing system hardware architectures

· Install, implement, and maintain firewalls and network security platform in a Web, database, and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) data call center environment

· Monitor and manage consoles, auditing, traffic analysis, reporting, and enforced incident response procedures

· Consult other corporate data center offices on developing network security platforms, implementing VPN solutions, penetration testing, and performing vulnerability assessments on corporate and client systems

· Assist in managing customer premise routers and virtual LANs

· Manage DNS, Exchange, and Internet segment for data center clients

· Support corporate Frame Relay Intranet and assisted in troubleshooting corporate LAN/WAN issues

· Provide first and second-level end-user support to office associates

· Manage developers hardware and software platforms, database design support, and developer tools platform

· Manage data center backups, customized SQL server performance configurations, network administration access

· Assisted in functional, quality assurance, performance, and regression testing of newly designed applications

· Responsible for data call center cable management

 



·Requires: Knowledge of many operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Unix, Linux, MacOS)

·  Experience mapping technical requirements to hardware options

·  Working knowledge of VA VistA Systems including the HP Alpha hardware

·  Experience with enterprise system interoperability methods

·  Familiarity with VA and/or DoD system integration
