Summary
The Sr. Systems Analyst will report to the Stanley Project Manager in support of Department of State (DOS) Passport Systems. The SSA will work independently and within small teams to support and direct various software and systems related tasks. The SSA will be expected to provide ad hoc system administration support and/or training, support hardware and software installations, and support other miscellaneous tasks ranging from documentation support to hands-on technical support.
Specific Duties:
Hardware/Software Installation Support:
* The SSA will provide much of the planning and coordination of hardware and software installations which will include developing project schedules, project plans and resource allocation plans.
* Provides leadership during deployment installations, fostering cooperation between various groups of contractor personnel and customers, and providing verbal and written communications as needed.
During the installations the SSA will be responsible for prioritizing tasks, managing the personnel and reporting to Stanley Project Manager and State Department Client. The SSA should be knowledgeable in the installation and support of workstations, servers, printers/peripherals and/or network equipment as needed.
The SSA must use professional oral and/or written communication skills with customers, vendors and coworkers at all times. The SSA must exhibit good judgment in interfacing with all government and contract personnel, providing proper examples of work performance, and adherence to professional standards and operational and security guidelines as defined by the Government and by Stanley Associates.
Ad Hoc Systems Support: The SSA will be expected to complete other support tasks which will include but not be limited to system software and hardware evaluation and analysis in a lab environment, development and integration of new IT management and deployment tools and documentation of current operational processes and conducting process improvement efforts.
Other Functions/Characteristics: Provide additional support tasks at the direction of agency managers and supervisory personnel as assigned. Additional duties (including by not limited to passport production support, office administrative functions and other duties) may be assigned during the course of the support role (other duties as assigned). Efforts such as preparing and/or reviewing systems documentation (e.g., user manuals, training manuals, trip reports, etc.) and preparation or support of test plans may be assigned depending on workload.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelors Degree and a minimum of two (2) years experience in managing hardware and software deployments; minimum of four (4) years of experience software and hardware installation and integration
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to successfully complete the Stanley Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks for continued employment.
• Possession of an INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; Ability to maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment; US Citizenship is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2003 and XP) and MS-office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel and/or Visio)
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Preparation and/or support for developing project plans and schedules
• Ability to write clear and concise end-user documentation including user manuals, reference sheets, and on-line help
• Familiarity with working in production environments
• Preparation and execution of test documentation related to the software systems and/or hardware installation procedures.
• Generation and performance of QA checks on system documentation (Users Manuals, Training Manuals, system orientation briefings, etc.)
• Installation and support for MS operating systems, system security policies, and ensuring compliance with documented security guidelines and practices
• Basic knowledge of workstation and server architecture is also desired
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Agency Security clearance; US Citizenship required.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred:
• Technical certification in Microsoft environments or computer maintenance is desired (i.e., MCP, MCSE, A+, etc.).
