Essential Job Functions:

The Systems Operations Analyst’s primary responsibility is the startup and shutdown, as well as real-time monitoring, of NASDAQ’s core trade execution, order routing, trade reporting and clearing systems.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating requirements for solutions to business problems and assuring that the design of NASDAQ’s Linux-based systems and procedures meets those requirements.  We seek experienced-level, professionals in which, under well-defined guidance, your technical, as well as business skills will be sharpened and developed into assigned roles.

 

Typical Job Functions:Real-time monitoring of core trading system for software/hardware errors, failures and capacity issues; troubleshoot, diagnose and escalate to senior analysts and development.Follows and updates procedures for startup and shutdown of core trading system.Confer with senior Java development team to understand new or revised systems, discuss system design issues, resolve problems related to programming specifications, and test and roll-out system changes and upgrades.Ensure that current procedures and related information about the existing system are accurately documented.Reviews system capabilities, department workflow, and scheduling requirements to determine when requested project can be accomplished.Reviews technical reports and instructional manuals that document program development.Troubleshoot order entry and market data connectivity issues with clients, exchanges, market centers, and network providers.Offer application support to internal Trade Desk staff in order to resolve issues with orders, trades, executions and etc.Responsible for managing and operating failover scripts for all critical applications

 

Requirements:Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline; or work experience/formal training equivalent to a four-year degree.Proficiency with a Linux/Unix based Operating SystemsExperience with Perl, BASHGood knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP Experience working in a real-time environment within a trading or financial capacity is also a plus.Multi-tasking is required and detail-oriented is criticalMust be able to work rotating shift schedule.All team members will sit for Series 7 License during 1st year.
