REPORTS TO AND EVALUATED BY: Director of TechnologyQUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with PC hardware and software. Experience with Active Directory, Windows server security and network operations. Ability to maintain network security standards including research and troubleshooting. Strong analytical and technical aptitude with an attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with various constituencies. Hardware and software installation. Experience in educational setting preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Troubleshoots and maintains Personal Computer (PC) software and hardware ensuring proper network connectivity. Manages LAN/WAN access, installs stand-alone and network software, repairs improperly installed software and hardware. Maintains and monitors network administration Maintains current troubleshooting skills in all areas of hardware, software and communications. Maintains knowledge of Windows operating systems. Maintains good understanding of district technologies. Surveys hardware and software trends, makes strategic recommendations relative to new advances and needs of district technology. Helps in administering district data standards. Recommends specifications, standards, and requirements for hardware and/or software purchase and design to ensure optimum system and end-user performance. Assists in maintaining software updates compatible with district databases. Other duties as assigned by a Director of Technology.
Ability to: Describe technical issues to other tech support staff and supervisor. Communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, users and administrators. Train and assist staff in using hardware and software efficiently. Be creative and assist with new ideas and technology visions.
