Review and monitor effectiveness of the DC systems to ensure timely and accurate functionality. Maintain equipment and software. Ensure that equipment is functioning and when necessary, pursue repairs or replacement of systems.· Ensure compliance with all administrative reporting requirements and that they are delivered in a timely manner. Maintain computer security systems and backup procedures, ensuring that equipment is in a secure area and that only approved users have computer room access. · Monitor and review effectiveness of system related distribution center projects. Ensure project coordination and that proper system procedure and guidelines are followed to maintain consistency.· Manage the development, implementation and administration of operational policies, programs and systems within functional area. Establish methods and procedures for departmental work activities; identify and resolve operational problems; and communicate expertise and approvals concerning departmental activities.· Manage and lead the activities of the staff in the Systems Department and is responsible for holding associates accountable for their performance. Allocate work assignments, monitor productivity and procure resources to facilitate staff performance and assure priorities are met.· Hire, orient, train, evaluate; recommend pay increases and develops associates by providing leadership and end user training.· Analyze current systems and recommend improvements as needed. Research and review hardware and software recommendation.· Ability to physically access all areas of working environment that he/she is responsible for to observe operations, observe associates, instruct in methods of operation, and assess needs.· Establishes sound process improvement initiatives that drive year over year improvement.· Flexibility to work variable shifts.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:· Knowledge of mainframe (AS400, HP), midrange servers, PC, networks, RF, WMS and distribution center systems applications.· Knowledge of UNIX, ORACLE, Informix, Windows XP; Windows NT based operating systems is a plus.· Good working knowledge of PC, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft applications.· Good working knowledge of distribution practices and procedures.EDUCATION/TRAINING:· High school diploma or equivalent required.· Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent preferred.EXPERIENCE:· Minimum of one to three years business systems, network and administrative management experience or equivalent.ROLE SPECIFIC ABILITIES/SKILLS:· Effective oral and written communication skills.· Good organizational and problem solving skills..· Good administrative, managerial and leadership skills.· Good ability to gather, analyze and interpret information and develop, recommend and implement solutions.Sears is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
