System Support Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. May require an associate's degree in a related area and minimal to 1 year previous experience in the field. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:First responder to end user trouble ticketsProvide analytical and technical expertise to solve hardware and software problems.Install and configures hardware per corporate guidelines.Perform repair and upgrades to hardware. Act as liaison to hardware vendors for repair of existing equipment. Assist the System Administrator in administrative tasks Use of a ticket tracking system required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS REQUIRED: Previous Help Desk experience a plus as well as knowledgeable in providing support for desktop, server, network and applicationsFlexibility to work diverse schedulesAbility to work effectively in mission-critical environmentGood oral and written communication skillsAbility to work closely with others/teamworkAbility to react quickly in crisis situation
