System Engineer

iTech Solutions is working with a client in the Seattle area for a Systems Engineer. This candidate MUST be local to the Seattle area.



This consultant will work primarily with IT and/or business work groups in addressing IT System architecture, data modeling, database, installation, and performance issues, as well as participating in project efforts. Requires a superior knowledge of the specific operating system and the use of OS utilities and software applications. Installs, tests, and integrates system software, monitors the performance of assigned technologies and takes appropriate action, administers technology that requires system administration, and integrates technologies and assists in resolving problems with technologies. Acts in consulting capacity, assisting other IT departments in choosing, installing, and integrating enterprise system technologies. Functions as a technical advisor to others within the IT division, by providing training and assistance with debugging/problem resolution to application programmer/analysts. Provides resolution of technical issues associated with the corporate information systems. Participates in the evaluation and recommendation of new hardware in support of processing and application requirements in the data center. Knowledge of operating systems, procedures, and vendor-supplied utilities

Required Skills:



3-5 years in systems architecture and design.

Experience designing applications in a high availability, high traffic eCommerce environment a big plus.

3-5 years experience on Windows server platform and applications.

Strong knowledge of AD, IIS, SQL Server, SMS, MOM.

Strong Linux knowledge a plus.

Thorough understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, etc.).

Thorough understanding of web-based communications and protocols (XML, Soap, web-services, http(s), MSMQ, Async messaging, SOA).

Solid understanding of .net, SAN, and virtualization technologies.

Solid understanding of .net, SAN, and virtualization technologies.



Bonus Skills:



Single Sign-On (SSO) design and implementation.

Identity Management platforms (oracle 10g Access Manager).

Server clustering.

Ecommerce background.

Active/Active (geographically dispersed datacenter) design experience.
