Designs and manages the enterprise storage environment for entire account. Works closely with the customer on storage demand/forecast. Coordinates with client management to formulate complex technical solutions. Informs client management of appropriate developments in technical support products. Evaluates products and upgrades for appropriateness. Oversees and implements system upgrade strategies. Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex solutions. Coordinates activities with other technical personnel as appropriate. Develops and analyzes highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance. Conducts capacity planning reviews with management and approves capacity plans formulated by less experienced personnel. Develops strategies to manage the frequency of appropriate support package/patch application. Monitors database maintenance and provides appropriate recommendations, when required. Coordinates with business development personnel on proposals and work estimates involving highly complex system administration projects and solutions. Researches current systems technology and serves as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and procedures. Provides technical leadership to internal and external personnel on highly complex system installation processes. Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced personnel. Provides technical leadership to appropriate personnel on highly complex system administration activities. Provides technical solutions and escalated support for non-routine, highly complex technical issues. Basic knowledge of Windows operating system. Basic knowledge of UNIX operating system. Basic knowledge of Novell operating system. Basic working knowledge of databases as it relates to storage design Basic-level skills in writing, implementing and maintaining scripts used in the administration of SAN infrastructures. Prefer EMC or Hitachi experience Other Qualifications :Service Level and ITIL process mechanics Ability to edit files in UNIX environment using vi. Ability to write and maintain documentation. Ability to research and troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Project planning skills Ability to understand business processes and to translate business requirements into technical/operational requirements. Ability to develop, maintain and prioritize tasks for SAN infrastructure(s) Ability to participate in recommendation and implementation of automated pro-active SAN monitoring functions. Ability to write and maintain shell scripts in a UNIX environment. Ability to write and maintain windows operating system batch files. Ability to identify and document process & procedures in written form. Ability to perform installations and upgrades related to SAN infrastructure technologies in compliance to CSC standards, considering enterprise, security and support impacts. Ability to participate in the design, configuration, implementation and on-going support functions associated to Storage Infrastructures. Basic understanding of SAN infrastructure Disaster Recovery & the able to participate as necessary in Disaster Recovery planning & recovery testing. Ability/willingness to follow CSC Core processes. Willing to carry a pager 24x7, unless otherwise stipulated. Able to perform 24x7 on-call duties as appropriate. Able to be flexible with work schedules as deemed necessary by projects and areas of responsibility. Ability to multi-task, while maintaining quantity and quality of work. Advanced hands-on knowledge of performance and tuning tasks/troubleshooting. Advanced hands-on knowledge of SAN storage administration Advanced hands-on knowledge of SAN & SAN fabric technologies Advanced hands-on knowledge of NAS technologies Advanced hands-on knowledge of IP networking protocols, configuration, troubleshooting, and utilities. Advanced hands-on knowledge of SCSI and fiber channel. Advanced hands-on knowledge of SAN & fabric administration; including networking/distributed computing environment concepts (i.e. TCPIP, routing, subnet masking), LUN masking, zoning and how to perform basic troubleshooting associated to these concepts. Storage Billing and asset management Integrate storage processes (Capacity Planning, Billing, Performance Planning, Storage Delivery) using standard tools (Creekpath, Vendor tools, Inventory, Service Request, GSM) Deliver storage processes against contractual obligations, service objectives, and account obligations.
