Sr. Unix Systems Admin

Description:Job Summary:As a Unix Systems Administrator you will work as part of a highly technical team of professionals who support the day-to-day management and operations of NetApp's Unix Systems. You will utilize your strong technical background and related experience to positively contribute to the department?s goals and vision for advancing NetApp's storage infrastructure. To be successful you will need a strong technical orientation; be a creative problem solver; have excellent customer service skills; have a desire to advance in the field; and work well in a team-oriented environment. Essential Functions: Work in a team environment to support the Engineering Support infrastructureincluding but not limited to: equipment specification, order processing,installation, troubleshooting and implementation of the UNIXinfrastructure. Emphasis will be on Linux-related OS's, platforms andservices and how they integrate into the local build environment andEngineering Support's global automation roadmap.Education and Experience:- A minimum of 6-8 years of experience is required. 9 to 11 years of experience is preferred. - A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences, or related technical field is required; or equivalent experience.- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.Qualifications:Requirements: 5 years of senior level systems administration in Information Technologyfunctions. High attention customer service as well as excellent oral andwritten communication skills. Must have extensive experience working incross functional group working with Linux on IBM platforms. Familiaritywith Network Appliance products and Ontap is a plus. Experience with NIS,DNS, LDAP required.
