Sr Test Engineer

The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Sr. Test Engineer for our Advance Technology Group QA Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary:
Responsible for the design, development and execution of Video Subscriber Technology test strategy, plans, procedures and test results. Additional responsibilities include the validation of software, hardware and documentation prior to deployment in the existing Time Warner Cable environment. The candidate must have working knowledge of testing methodologies and procedures as implemented within a Product Development Life Cycle model. Additionally the candidate must have the ability to work alone or in a team environment.

Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for the development of a comprehensive test strategy as well as detailed test plans and cases for subscriber technology products.
• Maintain and use current problem reporting database throughout the System Verification Testing and Field Testing of subscriber technology products to clearly describe and document problems found during testing.
• Maintain and use Virtual Source Safe (VSS) / E-Room / Share Point as repository for Vendor Releases and documentation as well as for TWC Test Plans, Test Procedures and Test scripts.
• Work with management to develop, and execute detailed System Verification Test (SVT) schedules for the Test Engineering /Quality Assurance team.
• Works with Advanced Engineering, Program Management, and Project Engineering, along with others in the acceptance criteria/verification and packaging of subscriber technology solutions.
• Selects and implements automated test tools and applications to improve the test process, coverage and cycle time.
• Works with Advanced Engineering, Product Marketing, and Program Management, along with others in the review of Subscriber Technology Functional Requirements and Specifications.
• Assists as needed with New Product Deployments in the scheduled hand-off and training of subscriber technology solutions.
• Work directly with Deployment in improving Systems Quality Assurance test plans and procedures based on customer feedback.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to others less senior.
• Assess system impact and priority of problems encountered.
• Suggest ways to mitigate risk when issues are encountered; identify contingency plans.

• Working knowledge of a cable operation is preferred.
• Ability to think through a problem, analyze and break it down into parts to resolve or come up with a logical solution.

• Ability to work on several tasks/projects simultaneously; organize, prioritize, make decisions, and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
• Ability to express oneself in a clear, concise and organized manner both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and exhibit a strong work ethic.
• Travel 15-20%

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
