Sr. Technical Program Manager - Supply Chain

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager with passion, energy and drive who is willing to take the lead in developing leading-edge technology solutions to be used throughout the church’s supply chain processes.  The Program Manager must be willing to take responsibility for successful development of critical global enterprise systems.
 
Leading a team of software developers, architects, testers, systems engineers and project managers, the Program Manager's technical decisions and direction are what will drive products and features through to completion. Working throughout the Supply Chain portfolio organization, Program Managers translate user requirements into product solutions delivered by vendors or via church development teams. Program Managers work with functional leaders to prioritize and deliver on those features, by providing technical leadership as well as project direction to engineering resources and/or Vendors.  Program Managers are energized by a challenge and are willing to take responsibility for the success of critical Church IT solutions.

 

Job Functions:
• Drive and own the requirements of the project from inception to delivery.
• Drive development and implementation process to complete solution according to commitments.
• Work with ICS line managers to assemble project teams.
• Evaluate vendors and packaged solutions for buy vs. build decisions.
• Provide technical leadership during solution development and deployment.
• Develop, maintain and execute the master project plan and rollout schedule.
• Manage development of required documentation.
• Lead development teams in prioritization of work products.  Lead iteration and release planning.
• Communicate detailed functional requirements.  Collaborate with project team to identify feature details and technical design.
• Work with stakeholders to gather, clarify and document project requirements.
• Clarify and drive project commitments; establish and maintain clear chains of accountability. Communicate to all levels of stakeholders involved with the project.
• Provide continuous assessment of project risks and mitigation approaches.
• Lead project reviews to assess schedule, solution architecture and process.
• Facilitate communication and negotiation within the team.

 





10+ years experience in IT related field.  5+ years managing software development efforts.

Thorough understanding of all domains of IT security.

Track record of successfully executing complex projects — particularly enterprise-level applications.

Excellent analytical skills.  Ability to think critically and decompose complex problems into coherent technology strategy and solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to negotiate and positively influence people at all levels of the organization.

Must have substantial technology leadership experience in supply chain or working with large enterprise-wide materials management systems

Must have experience planning and implementing supply chain solutions, including manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and retail (Point of Sale, web ordering) systems

Strong, broad technical background required.  Must have a solid understanding of architectural and system concepts.  Will need to work with and provide leadership to development, infrastructure, database and architecture teams.

Preferred:  Experience working with ERP systems (Peoplesoft, SAP, Oracle etc.).

International experience strongly preferred

Experience with data warehousing, business intelligence, middleware solutions, RDBMS, package selection, etc.

Development experience with: J2EE and/or .NET, agile software development practices, configuration management, etc.

Above All:  Driven to take on the most difficult challenges in the organization
