Sr. Systems Engineer - Cisco Routing Switching
Senior Network Systems Engineer
SyTec Business Solutions is the premier provider of computer networking service in the Central NC area. We design, install and maintain local and wide area networks for business clients who either don't have their own IT staff or need assistance on projects. We focus on providing premium quality customer serviceand quick response.
This position is categorized as a Senior Network SE position. Employee will work as a part of a team providing onsite support and project work for SyTec clients in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area. This is full time employment opportunity, not a contract. SyTec is a well established and growing company with a solid reputation for providing high quality networking design, service and support. There is opportunity for leadership and professional growth.
Requirements:
Min 5 Yrs experience as an SE supporting Microsoft and Cisco products directly.
Cisco Command set/IOS skills and experience.
Cisco router/switch configurations and troubleshooting.
VLAN setup and management.
Layer 3 switching configuration.
Microsoft Windows Server installation/management/troubleshooting experience
Understanding of Active Directory.
Strong understanding of networking concepts such as OSI Model, packet architecture, security, authentication.
Proactive and enthusiastic attitude
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
Professional bearing and manner
Very little travel required – Avg less than 2 days/month
Must pass drug test and background screening
Preferred:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer 2003 (MCSE 2k3)
Cisco Certified Design/Network Associate (CCDA/CCNA)
Microsoft Exchange Experience
Cisco Unified Communication Manager experience.
Cisco firewall experience
Duties:
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for designing and installing networking technologies for clients, and supporting clients and their networks. The Systems Engineer configures the equipment and software to meet client business needs and documents the solution for ongoing support. The Systems Engineer can function as part of or lead an implementation team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects. The Systems Engineer may also provide technical support to the sales staff and assist with the design of LAN/WAN-based solutions.
