Looking for an Engineer with a strong background in Siebel. Join a growing team supporting DHS in downtown DC/Chinatown. Metro accessible location.-- MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN -- We are seeking an experienced Engineer who can provide guidance and hands-on support for an existing Siebel implementation that is integrated with Analytics and Actuate. Informatica is used to ETL data from a source data repository to a data warehouse used by Analytics. A specific short-term task is coordinating the re-hosting of the application from a data center with few constraints to one with multiple tiers (i.e.. application, database, web-server, etc.) separated by internal as well as external firewalls. New hardware will be purchased and configured as part of this effort. In addition, the candidate will support numerous engineering/development tasks including security related remediations, functional system changes, and analysis of complex system and performance problems existing in the application . Candidate must be flexible, have excellent written and oral skills, and Required Skills* Minimum of 7 (seven) years of experience with developing/engineering Siebel CRM applications* Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience working on systems maintained in a secure environment* Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience working in a multi-tiered data center environment* Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience with troubleshooting, recommending, and maintaining documentation for complex firewall rules* Experience with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)* Experience with eScript and workflow, a plus* Experience in process oriented environment, such as CMMI, and/or ITIL, a plus * Knowledge of Serena PVCS Tracker/VM tools and Automated testing tools, a plus General Requirements* Good analytical and problem solving skills* Skilled in time, priority and task management* Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members* Presentation skills to present test results to individuals and groups* Good Communication skills (written and oral)* Active in pursuing learning opportunities* Ability to work independently and as part of a team Essential Job Functions Architects highly complex, global solutions across the appropriate engineering environments to meet business requirements or enhance performance. Reviews cost analyses and vendor comparison reports to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Recommends vendor/approach and presents to senior management. Reviews and recommends highly complex systems investment(s) to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future performance, stability, and systems management/life cycle issues. Provides escalated, highly complex technical support to customers by investigating and resolving systems-related matters of significance; provides support telephonically and/or electronically. Plans, conducts and oversees the technical aspects of large, complex projects; coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and provides management overview. Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of highly complex system requirements and problems. Develops training tools and documentation; oversees implementation of same. Reviews literature, patents and current practices to support business requirements and/or new industry technology. Prepares reports and/or recommendations regarding new technology to appropriate personnel. Provides complex technical consultation on current and proposed systems to other organizations and clients. Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to obtain/maintain a USCIS 6C clearance (level of Public Trust) Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, systems engineering, physics, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred Nine or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming or naval architecture Experience working with specific software and/or hardware systems with a specific concentration in one or more areas Experience working with one or more structured programming languages Experience working with design principles and applications Experience working with design principles and applications related to integrated plant, aircraft, ship and/or weapons systems (Naval Architecture only) Other Qualifications Strong leadership skills to effectively mentor and lead junior level personnel Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of complex systems Strong communication skills to communicate systems proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates and team members Strong organization skills to prioritize work, balance and lead complex projects Ability to work independently and as part of a global team Ability to integrate highly complex hardware and software systems Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Public Trust Create Success
