General Description:

This position is for a person with Data Warehouse project/application experience. Experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) development, database development, multi-dimensional environments and reporting applications is a must. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will work with other Data Warehouse personnel to design, code, test and support DW applications/load processes within an Oracle, Teradata, Essbase and SAS environment. Actual Oracle, Teradata, Essbase and SAS development/support experience required, although training will be provided as needed. Telecom industry background would also be a plus for this position.

Specific Responsibilities:

· Familiarity with software development methodologies and lifecycle processes

· Create and maintain ETL procedures in a variety of environments, including UNIX, Windows, Oracle, Teradata, and SAS.

· Define, document and execute test cases to effectively validate the new components of the data warehouse being developed, enhanced or otherwise maintained.

· Define and follow standards for data warehouse. Engage in peer reviews of design and code.

· Complete mandatory application documentation, as specified by project.

· Provide support for applications developed and be able to resolve problems encountered.

· This support is both during normal work hours and off hours, as required, to bring application back into Service Level Agreement times.

· Follow company problem and change management processes.

· Mentor to other personnel - provide knowledge transfer as necessary

· Work with Oracle, Teradata, and Access databases, Brio Query tool, Hyperion Essbase20applications, SAS reporting environment and FirstLogic data quality toolset

· Must possess the ability to work in a team environment and have strong communications skills.

Other requirements:

· College degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

· Minimum 5+ years in information technology and minimum 2+ years in a data warehouse environment.

· Ability to work in a large multi-instance, multi-server environment.

· Light travel expected. Overtime expected for both development and support activities

· Willingness to learn the tools not presently understood.

· Telecommunications billing and customer care systems experience a plus.

· Experience with fast-paced, time-constrained development teams.

· Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a team environment.

· Must be detail oriented and self-managing.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills, both technical and user focused.
